ABOUT JEFF
Blind Pig Jazz was founded by drummer and bandleader, Jeff Johnson (aka, "Big Pig"). Originally from Southern California, Jeff has performed with some of the most respected jazz musicians, including Henry Franklin and Cecilia Coleman. In addition to his work as a performer, Jeff is also an accomplished educator. He has studied with renowned drum instructors, including Ed Shaughnessy, Roy Burns, and Joe Porcaro. He also shares his knowledge and passion for music with a new generation of aspiring musicians as a drum instructor. Influenced by legends Art Blakey, Max Roach and Roy Haynes, Jeff's sound is rooted in jazz while accompanied by some of the Puget Sound's most talented musicians. Jeff and his bandmates' highly improvisational approach creates a unique experience for both the musicians and the audience at every performance.
